Mamaland (2021) in process

An ongoing collaboration between two longtime friends, this continually-expanding work uses movement, text, and song to examine the challenges and humor of motherhood juxtaposed with the time-based nature of career pressures. Themes of balance, visibility, negotiating priorities, and practicing presence, both in the exquisite and the mundane, emerge as the act of setting aside two hours a week becomes an act of personal agency.  

Thrust into a virtual format due to the pandemic, an abbreviated film version (see below) documents portions of the process over the past two years.
