In this solo work, physical entrapment on a dwindling desert island becomes a metaphor for the impermanence of the solo performer, the desire to be watched and to hold attention, and the quest for stardom. Exploring topics of climate change, capitalism, narcissism, and human fragility, this piece asks us: As the sea around us literally rises, what will we give up to survive?
